August 2017 (Austin, TX) – Art for the People will be showcasing the talented acoustic duo, Erin & Evan (who is exhibiting in Abstract Absolutely), for our second MUSIC is Happening on August 18th. Erin & Evan are a folk duo from Austin and San Antonio, weaving together intricate vocal harmonies and tight instrumental playing to create a new take on the folk tradition. With distinctive original songs and a few choice covers, Erin & Evan can fill a room with melody, warmth, and heartbreak. They play frequently across central Texas, and they will be releasing their first album in the fall of 2017.

Live Art!, with Helena Martin & Emily Ding, starting at 7:00pm, the fabulously talented Helena & Emily (who are both exhibiting in Scene Builders) will be sharing their painting process with us. Come and Celebrate multiple genres of art!!!

Art for the People is a boutique of visual & functional art that is located on the vibrant and quirky South 1st. Our building is easily identified by the butterflies and their metamorphic journey. Deanna Serra, owner of Art for the People had a vision to create a space for artists of all genres. We are fervent about promoting our Austin art community. As a boutique of the arts, we have 120+ artists in the form of original pieces of art, sculptures, ceramics, jewelry, bath & body care, home decor, cards, prints, and fashion.
