About

The Auricle Chamber presents Femina Obscura: a concert of chamber and solo works written by female composers.

With this concert, we want to shed light upon and these great women and lift their music from the historical shadows of men, who historically have dominated classical music. Works by Kaija Saariaho, Augusta Reed Thomas, Rebecca Clarke, Erzsébet Szőnyi, Lili Boulanger, and (the first female composer in the historical record) Hildegard von Bingen.
