The Wednesday Morning Music Club (“WMMC”) presents a program dedicated to National Federation of Music Clubs entitled “Crusade for Strings” on Wednesday, February 21st, at 10 a.m.

The program includes Georg Philipp Telemann’s Cantata (Kleine Kantate von Wald und Au) for Soprano, Flute, Cello and Piano: Aria, Recitative, Aria. Guest performer, Wanda Reynolds on the piano, joins WMMC members Marianne Weiss Kim, soprano, Pat Yingst, flute, and Angela Smith, cello.

WMMC member and pianist Mary Parse performs both the Intermezzo in E, Op. 116, No. 4 and the Capriccio in D minor, Op. 116, No. 7 by Johannes Brahms.

Johannes Brahms continues to delight the audience with Sonata for Viola and Piano in F minor, Op. 120; the Allegro appassionata. Performance by WMMC member, Toby Blumenthal-Phillips on the piano and WMMC guest, Leah Nelson playing viola.

Toby Blumenthal-Phillips stays at the piano and presents George Frideric Handel’s
Suite No. 2 in F Major for Piano both the Adagio and the Allegro movements.

Next on the program is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Sonata in A minor, K310; Allegro maestoso. Felicity Coltman, WMMC member, is at the piano.

The last piece on the program is Sergei Rachmaninoff ‘s Sonata for Cello and Piano, the Lento - Allegro moderato. It is presented by WMMC members, Terri Freeland, cello, and Robert Centeno, piano.
