This week's show honors the life of one of the great music patrons of the Italian Renaissance: Ercole d'Este, Duke of Ferrara from 1471-1505. We'll hear from several composers he employed, including Johannes Martini, Jacob Obrecht, and Josquin des Prez. The centerpiece of the show is a 2021 recording of Josquin's Missa Hercules dux Ferrariae, performed by Odhecaton.
