AUSTIN PUBLIC LIBRARY PRESENTS

GREATER AUSTIN BOOK FEST

APRIL 26 | 10 A.M. - 5 P.M. | AUSTIN CENTRAL LIBRARY

The Austin Public Library is thrilled to present the second annual Greater Austin Book Festival (GAB Fest) on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the iconic Central Library overlooking Lady Bird Lake.

GAB Fest is Austin’s only tri-county book festival dedicated to celebrating local small-press and self-published authors. While Austin boasts a vibrant community of indie writers, few events provide them with the spotlight they deserve. GAB Fest fills this gap with a free, all-day literary celebration open to everyone.

The festival will feature 90 authors from Travis, Williamson, and Hays counties, selected through an open application process. Attendees can enjoy panel discussions, book signings, interactive activities, and a diverse marketplace of books — all available for purchase directly from the authors, who keep 100% of their profits.

GAB Fest is a family-friendly event with something for everyone:
•        Parents and young readers can discover new favorites at the children's author tables.
•        Enjoy a performance of Tales from Graves by Austin Public Library's puppet troupe.
•        Horror lovers won’t want to miss a panel discussion on crafting the perfect monster.
•        Aspiring writers can connect with local authors and attend panels on “Paths to Publishing” and “The Creative Process.”
•        Get creative with a zine-making workshop led by APL’s Zine Night staff.
•        Teens can sharpen their writing skills at a workshop from The Library Foundation’s Badgerdog Creative Writing program.

Join in celebrating Austin’s independent literary scene at GAB Fest — where local stories take center stage.
