Next year marks the 60^th anniversary of Van Cliburn’s still astonishing win at the International Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow in 1958.  Pianist, writer and the founder of Piano Today magazine, STUART ISACOFF has been wanting to write about it for years. His book: When the World Stopped to Listen Van Cliburn’s Cold War Triumph, and Its Aftermath is finally in print.
