Heartbeat Opera out of New York considers itself not just progressive but open minded. When Co-Artistic director Ethan Heard and conductor Dan Schlosberg (pictured below) decided to perform Beethoven's Fidelio, they also decided to update it to today's sensibilities and use the voices of male and female incarcerated singers from six prison choirs in 4 states.
