Next Month 18 young Black and Latinx classical string players will be in Detroit competing at the 23rd Annual Sphinx Competition. Four of them are from Texas, one of whom is from Austin. She is Violinist Sophia Ayer who won 2^nd place last year in the Junior Division. This year,  the 17 year old is going for the top prize and the money that goes with it.
