The Austin Symphony Orchestra got its 2019-2020 season underway with 1997 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition Gold Medalist Jon Nakamatsu, performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21, and Chorus Austin took to the stage in Schubert’s Magnificat in G, D. 486 and Maurice Duruflé’s contemplative Requiem, op. 9. These performances were recorded September 13 and 14 at Dell Hall in the Long Center for the Performing Arts in Austin, with Maestro Peter Bay conducting. KMFA’s Jeffrey Blair hosts.
