Pianoforte presents an encore of highlights from the third annual Austin Piano Festival. KMFA was there to record select performances, and now you can hear them on the air. Hear Nancy Weem's piano recital, Debussy in Sound and Image, and a Two Piano Chamber Recital, including a world premiere of an arrangement of selections from Leonard Bernstein’s Fancy Free. This program will be hosted by acclaimed pianist, Anton Nel.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Founded in 2013, the Austin Piano Festival is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the musical culture of Austin, Texas and surrounding areas by providing multiple educational opportunities and world class concerts. Their 2015 season included the exciting "Celebration of the Piano" series from March 14 - May 17, and included the Solo Piano Competition, performance opportunities for Texas students, master classes, and concerts and lessons with world-class guest artists and teachers.
